Lo que ten¨ªa que haber sido una movilizaci¨®n puntual organizada por la plataforma Democracia Real ?Ya! en sesenta ciudades del Estado espa?ol, se convirti¨® en el inicio de un ciclo global de movilizaci¨®n cuyo eco resuena de Nueva York a Tel Aviv pasando por Santiago de Chile y Roma compartiendo el nombre gen¨¦rico de ¡°movimiento de los indignados¡±. En este art¨ªculo explorar¨¦ c¨®mo se transforma la acci¨®n colectiva contenciosa a ra¨ªz de la irrupci¨®n del movimiento 15-M. Si bien es siempre arriesgado analizar un movimiento ¡®in progress¡¯, d¨®nde gran parte de la literatura producida todav¨ªa tiene un car¨¢cter m¨¢s circunstancial o period¨ªstico que anal¨ªtico, me he propuesto explorar algunos de los factores que puedan sernos ¨²tiles a fin de comprender su ¨¦xito aglutinador y a la vez su escasa capacidad de incidencia pol¨ªtica directa, lo que denominar¨¦ la paradoja movilizatoria. Para ello, partir¨¦ del andamiaje anal¨ªtico de la teor¨ªa de movimientos sociales a fin de repensar la pregunta b¨¢sica que enmarca todo proceso de investigaci¨®n sobre la acci¨®n colectiva: ?Qu¨¦ est¨¢ sucediendo aqu¨ª?; The success of the 15-M was a surprise to all, not least for its organizers. Nothing made us imagine that the demonstrations called on May 15, 2011, in sixty cities of the Spanish state under the slogan ?Occupy the streets! Real Democracy Now! We are not merchandise in hands of politicians and bankers? would become the spark that would start the fire, causing one of the most significant citizens¡¯ protests in Spain since the return of democracy and the beginning of a mobilization cycle from New York to Tel Aviv. However, it's always difficult to examine one movement in progress when the most part of the literature about it is more journalistic than academic. For this reason, I'll center my analysis in the explanation of some factors that could be useful to understand the success of the mobilization, and its low impact in formal politics (the mobilization paradox). To achieve this goal, I'll use the analytic background of Social Movement theory in order to answer the key question of one research about collective action: What's going on here?
